"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth... And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good..." Genesis 1:1, 3-4
And so, from the very beginning. God began to divide the light from the darkness.
Light has always been... COLOR.
Thousands and thousands of years have passed since light was first divided. A lot of things have changed since then, but one thing hasn't changed. God's words that day are still in effect; light is still light and darkness is still darkness. Our religious ideas may be different, but there is still one thing we can all observe for ourselves. Society (or I should say, the message of society) is getting darker. Fear and a lack of hope has spread across the world.
This blog is founded on one simple idea. If God's word brought light to the world, surely it can bring light into our own personal lives. In this blog, we will explore the Commandments of God, his guidelines to filling our lives with light. Obedience to these commandments has brought me safety and peace that many of my peers are missing in their lives.
Now, some people reject the commandments at first. I don't blame them. From the outside, it can seem like these commandments are designed to take all of the excitement out of our lives, like a bucket of bleach dumped over colored clothes. However, I view things in a different way. God gave us these commandments to bless our lives, not to be a burden! They don't rob color from our lives, but they enhance it!
These are my invitations.
To my brothers and sisters in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: I invite you to search these commandments. This blog is my own personal feelings and not official church doctrine, but perhaps you might find this blog enlightening and contribute some powerful experiences of your own.
To my brothers and sisters in the Christian faith: The majority of these commandments come from The Holy Bible, with supporting scriptures from The Book of Mormon and our other books. I welcome you and invite you to share your insights and personal feelings as well, so that we may all be enlightened.
To my brothers and sisters outside of my faith: I hope you enjoy my blog as well. Even if you do not share my belief in Christ, I would invite you to consider these principles for your own lives. Surely, we will agree that many of these principles are clearly beneficial for our lives.
No matter who you are, I would invite you to relax and enjoy yourself here.
